The Evolution of Truth™ is not connected with any scientific or religious or organization.  It's just one person's effort to explore some of life's most challenging questions and deepest mysteries, with the hope that others will be inspired to do the same.  The material is intentionally presented in a non-technical format and intended to reduce complex issues to their simplest concepts in a visually engaging way.

The site presents issues with evolution theory, but does not take a position that no evidence exists for evolution.  The site does not take a position on debates over the age of the earth or universe or the time periods of creation.  It presents a sample of evidences of design, technology and intelligence seen in nature, but these are intended to arouse curiosity, not to serve as the only or even the best proofs of the existence of God.  If you read through the site, you will notice that it often does not give answers as much as it tries to challenge readers to use their own critical thinking to assess all the evidence and to find their own answers.

Following are positions that the site does take:

POLAR EXTREMES HINDER OUR PROGRESS

Taking polar extremes on the issue of creation and evolution does not serve to further deeper understandings of the origin or nature of life.

WE STILL HAVE MUCH TO LEARN

The fact that intelligent, educated people hold very differing views and beliefs demonstrates that we all still have much to learn, both from the evidence and from one another.

SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS EXISTS IN BOTH SCIENCE AND RELIGION

Mankind's search for truth is hindered by self-righteousness in the arenas of both science and religion.  It is our nature as humans to justify our beliefs, yet our justifications are based on a very, very small portion of the sum total of human knowledge and experience, and a smaller yet portion of the sum total of all that is eventually knowable within the limits of human perception and understanding.  We don't even yet know what we still have to experience in our own lifetimes.  We need to get past our pride and preconceptions in our beliefs about both science and religion and openly investigate the most basic of questions about life if we are to grow in our understandings.

OUR BARRIERS ARE MANMADE

The barriers we've created between the scientific and the spiritual are manmade, not laws of the universe.  Today's technology would have seemed like witchcraft just 100 years ago, so we need to realize that the boundaries change as our understandings grow and embrace information from all sources.

RATIONALIZATION DOES NOT CONSTITUTE EVIDENCE

We do not have, and may never have, the evidence needed to conclude that evolution, as a process of change observed in LIVING ORGANISMS, explains the origin of life itself from NON-LIVING MATTER, particularly when all evidence to date shows that life only comes from existing life and not from non-living matter. Theories of abiogenesis and chemical evolution have more basis in conjecture and rationalization to support a particular viewpoint than in observable evidence.

OBSERVATION IS EXTRAPOLATED BEYOND REASON AND EVIDENCE

While evolution can certainly be observed to occur with respect to small changes and adaptations, extrapolating this observation to conclude that this process fully explains the incredible diversity in life and life itself is at least as dependent on one's underlying preconceptions and beliefs about life and God as it is on hard scientific evidence and reason.

BELIEFS ABOUT GOD INFLUENCE OUR PERCEPTIONS OF EVIDENCE

Our beliefs about God are the single most important factor in determining how we see and interpret evidence in this issue.  As humans, we readily accept that which we wish to be true and readily reject that which is in conflict with our belief systems.

GROWTH COMES WHEN BELIEFS ARE CHALLENGED

Our degree of growth is proportional to the degree to which we are open to having our beliefs challenged.  Throw out your beliefs and try to understand those of someone with a completely opposing view and you will grow incredibly in your own understandings.

INTELLIGENT DESIGN AND EVOLUTION SHOULD BOTH BE TAUGHT

We are doing our youth and our society a huge disservice by teaching only naturalistic views on the origin of life.  The life sciences at all levels should be taught with open minds and open inquiry into the alternative that life may have been created, examining reason and evidence both for AND against BOTH evolution and creation, and allowing the individual the freedom to explore and to come to their own conclusions.

This would not require that the creation account of ANY religion be brought into the classroom.  It would just open the door for open, honest discussion of the reason and evidence that supports the alternative viewpoints from a strictly scientific perspective. Without that, our teaching of evolution implies that theism is not scientific and establishes atheism as the defacto religion of our academic institutions and the scientific community.

GOD EXISTS AND REVEALS HIMSELF IN MANY WAYS

Lastly, I believe that God exists and has revealed Himself to mankind in many ways, in many eras, through many people and in Jesus Christ. Those who truly seek God with an open mind and heart will in time find all the evidences needed to know that He not only exists, but touches lives in a personal way.  Once this relationship of faith is established in personal life experiences, there is no conflict in faith with either science or reason.  Still it is important to realize how much we still have to learn about life, in both the physical and the spiritual.

With that as a foundation, I hope the site stimulates and challenges your thinking and inspires you to truly seek deeper understandings on this issue.
