A number of people have written to ask who the author of this site is. Some ask
what my credentials are. Here's a bit of information to satisfy some of that
curiosity.
This site is not
connected with any scientific, religious or research organization.
It's just one person's effort to explore some challenging questions about
life, with the hope that others will be inspired to join the pursuit.
I'm not using this site to promote myself in any way for several reasons:
First, the site is meant to bring focus and glory to God, not to me, so
who I am never
seemed all that important.
Second, while I'm an intelligent person by most measures, I don't have any credentials
that should make people believe something just because I said it. Besides, that's
not the point of the site. Even the most highly qualified people in the world on
this topic are often highly biased in their views and very limited in the scope of their
experience and knowledge outside their own area of expertise.
I really want people to
think for themselves and search on their own because I believe that is how each of us must
find our personal relationship with God. One thing I do bring is experience on both
sides of the issue. I know what it's like to believe in evolution and consider
anything spiritual to be bunk. I held that view until I was 38. I also know
what it's like to have had an experience that makes God's existence undeniable on a
personal level and how that changes the way you see the world around you.
Beyond that, I was born in
the 1950's, have a family, spent most of my career in management and as an
adult found more truth and meaning in the words of
Jesus Christ than I had ever found anywhere else.
